5 Bible Verses on Hope

Updated: Dec 5, 2025

Our hope is far greater than anything this world has to offer. Rather than hoping in anything that will come to pass here on earth, our hope remains in God's final promise to restore all things. We are able to get through the troubles of today knowing firmly that God has overcome the world through Jesus Christ, and He is returning soon to rule and reign forever and ever, amen.

We can know this truth in our heads, but our souls may need to be reminded. When we are walking through seasons of difficulty or everyday trials, we can rest assured that our greatest hope remains.

Here are 5 Bible verses on hope to meditate on today:

“and those the Lord has rescued will return.

They will enter Zion with singing;

 everlasting joy will crown their heads.

Gladness and joy will overtake them,

 and sorrow and sighing will flee away.”

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.”

“…we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ”

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

“Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”
